But... why me? Well, I've probably been in your shoes -- multiple times.
It was early 2023, and I was at my highest known weight of 207 pounds at 5'1. Weight aside, I was pre-diabetic and depressed. I didn't recognize myself. I finally admitted I had to do something.
I had joined group classes in the past and was in search of a gym that offered early morning classes in Oakland. I found Body Mechanix Laurel and started attending classes multiple times a week. Along with meaningful diet changes, I’ve now lost about 70 pounds while putting on critical muscle mass. I’m in the best shape of my life in my mid-30's!!
Having a front row seat to my transformation and commitment, Body Mechanix Laurel mentored me as I became a Certified Personal Trainer. Even though I have a "day job", I wanted to make fitness a more permanent part of my life and I now teach classes at the gym that believed in me.
